Many people believe that humans should not engage in conflicts with each other, either over language, race or resources or over ethical considerations such as religion or ideology. This might mean opposing anything from small scale conflicts between neighbours to international war.

Far from simply opposing violence as a means to resolve conflict, social change organisations outline the injustices that such violence causes, and offer alternative approaches to resolve differences. Non violent conflict resolution is seen as the basis for creating a just and equitable society.
